Mountain Chairs has been making quality, affordable, hand-made rocking chairs for over 30 years in the small community of Short Mountain in Woodbury, TN. Woodbury is located about 30 minutes east of Murfreesboro and 1 hour southeast of Nashville.

Ronnie Smith, owner of Mountain Chairs, began learning chairmaking over 45 years ago from his grandfather, "Pa", at the young age of 10 where he had to stand on a piece of timber just to work on the lathe. After many years of learning the craft from "Pa", Ronnie decided to continue the family business and opened up his own shop in 1978. From the gently curved slatted seats and arched backs to the lines of the armrests and unique posts he has carried on the beautiful and sturdy designs his grandfather created.
